This month, Cubola welcomed Standard 4 students from Howard Smith Nazarene Primary School in Benque Viejo as part of the Inside Cubola programme, which invites schools to explore the world of books, publishing, and storytelling through visits to our office.
During their visit, students were introduced to the many steps involved in creating a book, from writing and illustration to design and editing. Author and illustrator Ian Gibson also gave a presentation about his work illustrating children’s books and shared the inspirations behind his own fantasy series, The Jade Necklace.
Students also took part in a fun interactive activity using Cubola’s Belize postcards, where they selected postcards and searched for the featured locations on a large map of Belize. The afternoon was filled with creativity, curiosity, and plenty of enthusiasm for books, maps, and art.
