Cubola Publishers at Centro de América: Primer Encuentro de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil
Cubola Publishers was honoured to represent Belize at Centro de América: Primer Encuentro de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil, held in Guatemala City ahead of FILGUA 2025 (Feria Internacional del Libro en Guatemala). This vibrant gathering brought together editors, writers, and illustrators from across Central America to share experiences, explore challenges in children’s and young adult literature, and strengthen regional collaboration.
The event was organised by Libros Para Niños, a non-profit based in Costa Rica that is dedicated to promoting reading and access to books for children throughout the region. You can learn more about their work at lpninos.org.
The programme featured a rich array of talks, workshops, and presentations. Montse Casademunt, founder of Cubola, delivered a presentation on the state of literature and the book market in Belize. Belizean illustrators Malí Cayetano, Ian Gibson, Manuel González Daza, Marvin Vernon, and Nisa Sánchez were showcased in an exhibition alongside talented artists from neighbouring countries, celebrating the diversity and creativity of the region’s visual storytelling.
It was an inspiring opportunity to connect with colleagues committed to nurturing a culture of reading and imagination among young audiences.
