World Book & Copyright Day

Celebrating World Book & Copyright Day in Belize
Read. Reflect. Empower.

In celebration of World Book & Copyright Day, Belize is highlighting the vital role of reading, storytelling, and publishing in shaping our society and preserving our cultural identity.

Members of the Belize Book Industry Association (BBIA) appeared on the Open Your Eyes morning show on Channel 5 Belize to share insights on the importance of nurturing a reading culture and supporting local authors and publishers. They discussed the power of books to spark imagination, promote literacy, and build bridges across generations and communities.

Coming Up: Book Fair in Dangriga
As part of the national celebration, the BBIA invites everyone to a Book Fair on Monday, 29th April at the Ignacia Cacho Library in Dangriga. The event will feature local authors, storytelling sessions, book sales, and activities for readers of all ages.

Join us in recognising the power of books to change lives—and help us build a stronger, more literate Belize!
